Alimony
Alimony, simply put, is payment made after the divorce from one divorcee to the other.
The amount paid is either ordered by the court or is negotiated by mutual agreement. Alimony is sometimes also referred to as Spousal Support or Maintenance.

Sometimes if a party will be receiving Child Support after a divorce, Alimony will not be paid in addition to Child Support; however there are special exceptions to this rule and the law concerning Alimony is steadily evolving.
